The NGS multi-band gutter system is the masterpiece of hydroponics, it is designed to house the roots and achieve optimal development and production of the plant.
It is made up of series of interconnected layers, which create a water cascade circuit at different levels, these interior waterfalls increase the oxygenation of the nutrient solution and plant roots.
The NGS system is based on a highly efficient production facility with capacity to induce the development of strong root systems that enhance productivity and guarantee plant resistance to diseases.
New Growing System is excellent for any terrain and any fruit and vegetable product. Therefore, there are three different types of multiband gutter systems adaptable for each crop.
MULTIBAND 3CP Layers
This gutter system is suitable for leaf crops, such as, lettuce, spinach, chard, celery or cabbages. It is made up of three polyethylene layers, forming and upper level and two interior levels. The upper layer has perforations, spaced every 10 centimeters, to house the plant plugs and each line is separated depending on size of final product.
The two interior levels which are internally connected, have the perfect space to accommodate the growth of the root system during the growth cycle.
These connected inner channels serve for oxygenation of the nutrient solution as well as the roots, which is fundamental for growth and to avoid any root disease. This happens via small inner cascades or waterfalls that occur in the inner perforations.
Each gutters line is placed next to each other in 4, 5 or 6 lines depending on size of plant. When together, they forms a table 1.20 meters wide. Between the tables it is necessary to leave a space of about 60 centimeters for the access of the operators and any auxiliary machinery.
NGS has established two ways of placing the cultivation tables, by a fixed support system or by a mobile support system.
The fixed support system is based on lines using M-shaped supports that are anchored on the ground every 2.5 meters, this is where the gutter lines are placed.
The system is based on the fixed support for the floor with wheels that provide mobility to the table. A single aisle is left at the end for moving all the tables. Higher density is obtained.
MULTIBAND 4CP Layers
Perfect for large crops such as tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, aubergines or cucumbers. It is made up of four polyethylene layers that have an upper level and three inner levels. The upper level has perforations spaced every 40 cm, providing the necessary space for root development during the growth cycle.Since the plants are larger, there is a greater separation between the cultivation lines of 1.60 meters, although the support system is similar to that of the Multiband 3CP Layers.
This has been specially designed for strawberry cultivation, based on plant size, plant growth cycle and substrate needs. This Multiband is made up of three polyethylene layers that are made up of an upper level and two interior levels. The upper level has two perforation lines, spaced every 20 cm, to house the plant plugs or bare root. The perforations zig zag in order to achieve higher planting densities.
As for the two interior levels, they are also internally connected to house the bare root development or plugs once they reach their adult size. This provides the root system with substrate at the upper level and a water cascade to oxygenate the nutritive solution and roots at the lower level.
The arrangement of the cultivation lines achieves maximum use of the cultivation area and highest plant densities naturally available.
The NGS system reduces the space between the cultivation lines in two different ways: by a fixed support system to the ground or by an oscillating support system hanging from the greenhouse structure.
The cultivation lines are fixed to the ground, with a height of approximately 1.10 m. These fixed supports are placed in line every 2.5 m and there is a separation of 60 centemeters to 1 meter between each lines.
The gutter lines are suspended from the greenhouse structure by cables, they are above ground which allows personnel to pass through the entire cultivation area, without the need to leave any space. The axes turn and elevate every other line leaving enough space for manipulation.
With this system, it is possible to take advantage of the entire cultivation surface, once workers are finished with every alternating lower level row, the system inverts the rows lowering the upper level now to be worked on. Once all the work is finished, all the lines are placed at the same level to avoid any shading of the plants.This system allows a plantation density of up to 200,000 plants per hectare.
