Happy Fruits Grows Strawberries at -10°C in Bulgaria
Happy Fruits, the name of the largest fruit producer in central Bulgaria, has invested in the acquisition and installation of one of the most advanced technological systems from New Growing System for strawberry cultivation, with the aim of diversifying its business lines. The installation of the NGS-berry oscillating system enables Happy Fruits to achieve, in an area of 5,000 m2, a production equivalent to a 10,000 m2 surface area. The three varieties grown by Happy Fruits will allow the company to produce and begin supplying strawberries to its domestic market in March.
After assessing various options for the development of its hydroponic facilities, Happy Fruits chose New Growing System thanks to the technical and logistical strength of the Spanish company, which has led projects across a wide range of climates, from the deserts of the Persian Gulf to the icy regions of Canada, among others. In this case, New Growing System technicians have equipped Happy Fruits’ new facilities with a thermal stabilization system that makes it possible to control the temperature and grow strawberries in winter, even when the outdoor temperature drops to -10°C, as is currently the case.
