NGS Sets Out to Conquer Central Asia
As part of our diversification and international expansion process, New Growing System began a new commercial venture in Central Asia a few months ago, specifically in Uzbekistan. Our company signed a commercial agreement with Mega Agro to supply our NGS-leaf hydroponic system for outdoor lettuce cultivation. This project has proven so attractive in Uzbekistan that, in June, the president of the Asian country visited Mega Agro’s facilities to see first-hand the features of NGS-leaf, a product that offers the following advantages for lettuce cultivation:
- The only hydroponic system that can be installed outdoors.
- A shorter production cycle thanks to more efficient nutrient uptake through the roots.
- By reducing the length of production cycles, the number of growing cycles per year increases.
- Significant savings in both water and nutrients thanks to recirculating irrigation.
- Eliminates soil preparation work, since once the lettuces are harvested, replanting is carried out immediately.
- Self-oxygenation of the plants, which makes it possible to eliminate the disinfection process.
In Uzbekistan, it is considered that hydroponic products from a company such as New Growing System enable crop diversification, which offers the country new business opportunities. For our part, this project allows us to continue growing and to open up new markets of strategic interest.
