ADBlick Agro Develops Argentina’s Largest Hydroponic Greenhouse Using New Growing System
ADBlick Agro, specializing in the development and management of agricultural investment projects, has inaugurated the country’s largest hydroponic greenhouse, where it will sustainably and predictably produce approximately 300 tons of strawberries annually. The greenhouse and all its equipment were transported from Spain in eight containers. According to ADBlick Agro representatives, “this is a highly innovative system with which we achieve a concentration of 190,000 plants per hectare, three times more than in the field. This density is achieved with the New Growing System’s oscillating system, which allows for the creation of aisles for working on the plants, harvesting at shoulder height, and significantly improving working conditions.”
Technological innovations include automated irrigation control, which optimizes pH and reduces water consumption by up to 90% compared to traditional crops, as well as climate control within the greenhouse, with window openings to evacuate heat and renew air faster than in other greenhouses. It also features a meteorological station that enables automated window operation and data collection to optimize cultivation. In a context where consumers demand greater environmental commitment, the New Growing System minimizes the use of chemical products. As a next step, the company will add two more NGS – Gogarsa greenhouses with the same characteristics.
