Maximum Production and Minimum Energy Expenditure for Super-Intensive Strawberry and Blueberry Crops

Super-intensive crops require technology that matches their high level of demand, and the NGS System is perfect for meeting these requirements and provides a competitive advantage in berry cultivation.

In the case of blueberry cultivation, the new Recirculating Hydroponic System features a density of 10,000 plants per hectare, with planting patterns based on the vigor of the variety, a lower volume of substrate than in pots, and lower water and fertilizer consumption.

Other benefits of the NGS System

Other benefits of choosing this system include minimum energy expenditure, with up to 4 irrigations per day, as well as greater control over the crop to advance or delay production, and to improve size and Brix levels.

The objective is to achieve maximum production per square meter with better use of space, fewer pest and disease problems due to increased aeration, and earlier production, as 500 grams are harvested per plant in the first year, and 2 to 3 kilos per plant from the second year onwards.

Furthermore, harvesting tasks are more comfortable and faster, as the plants are 40 centimeters above the ground, which is an advantage when planning agricultural work.

In the case of strawberries, the NGS Rotational System responds to the needs of producers who require greater profitability in their facilities without having to make significant changes to the equipment they already use conventionally.

Like the rest of the systems, it uses the NGS Duo Multi-band, a complete guarantee that yields excellent results in every country in the world where it is used. The R&D department at New Growing System has designed a model that introduces 10 cultivation lines in a macro-tunnel only 6.5 meters wide.

This innovation represents 15,300 linear meters of cultivation per hectare; that is, 153,000 pl/ha with a plant spacing of 20 cm, or 204,000 pl/ha when the plant spacing is 15 centimeters.

The NGS Rotational System automatically positions the crop in the most suitable location for photosynthesis, without limiting the production capacity of each plant or hindering harvesting tasks.
